At the very end of 1955, tenor saxophonist Harold Land returned to Los Angeles and the young Sonny Rollins took his place in the Max Roach-Clifford Brown Quintet. The group with Land recorded three albums, "Clifford Brown & Max Roach", "Brown & Roach Inc." and "Study In Brown".
This LP contains their second album in its entirety plus quartet songs recorded by Brown in France in 1953, added as a bonus.
