New release from the Pittsburgh Rock ān ā Roll icon ⢠A collection of Grushecky originals plus a cover of The Animalsā classic āWe Gotta Get Out Of This Placeā ⢠Available on CD, double-LP, and Digital ⢠Live dates forthcoming for the albumās release Joe Grushecky grew up in the coal mining town of Biddle, Pittsburgh, but after seeing The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Showāhe soon had a guitar in hand, and a future in rock ahead of him. Special Education educator by day, his Iron City Houserockers were signed by Cleveland International (home of Meat Loaf/Jim Steinman, Ronnie Spector, Ian Hunter). The Houserockersā journey continued across labels with contributions from Hunter, Mick Ronson (David Bowie), āLittle Stevenā Van Zandt, and Bruce Springsteen. Houserocker: A Joe Gruskecky Anthology (released in May of 2024) covered 40 years of performances from Iron City Houserockers, Joey G., Joe Grushecky And The Houserockers, and under his own nameācontaining production and performances from high profile artists and his band members and family heās played with throughout that time. It also contains Joeās version of Bruce Springsteenās 2005 Grammy-winning āCode Of Silenceāāco-written by the pair. Now, Joe and The Houserockers deliver their first release of new material in seven years. Canāt Outrun A Memory features 13 Grushecky originals coupled with a blistering cover of The Animals classic āWe Gotta Get Out Of This Place.ā 17 tracks of pure rock ānā roll, performed by the hardest working man and band in Pittsburgh. Available on CD, double-LP, and Digital, Canāt Outrun A Memory shows that Grushecky and crew can still deliver the same driving music they have for decades.
