The original 1984 album, reissued for the first time since the 1980's â in violet vinyl.
Plus a âUS Zillion $ Billâ ; a 24-inch x 12-inch poster with lyrics on the rear â as came with limited quantities of the original pressing.
Features Snake Dance, Religious as Hell, Crow Baby and two John Peel session tracks.
The reformed band have toured the UK, Europe & USA; festivals are scheduled for 2026 - A new album Crocodile Promises was issued in 2024; more recordings are under way.
THE MARCH VIOLETS came out of Leeds in the early 80âs, label-mates of Sisters of Mercy - Releasing six singles, they were a constant presence in the UK indie charts, hitting the top two with Snake Dance and Deep, and no. 1 with Walk into The Sun - They didnât get around to recording an album â their only 1980's LPs, Natural History in the UK and Electric Shades in the USA, were compilations - They were invited to record six BBC Sessions, three of them for John Peel - Eventually they signed to a major label and were groomed for a USA breakthrough, performing in the 1987 Some Kind of Wonderful movie - However, they didnât enjoy the compromises needed and split up.
